Priesthood Training

"The Priesthood of the Fellowship of Isis is passed to Priestesses and Priests
of the Fellowship through the Rite of Ordination, also through touch and oil.
Vocation is essential. The Priestesses and Priests may in their turn ordain others.
The same ceremony through telepathic attunement is as effective as the physical rite."
FOI Handbook, Olivia Robertson

For those interested in the Fellowship of Isis Priesthood, our Lyceum offers a choice of two training programs. The specific program is determined by the student, in conjunction with the guidance of the Crossroads Lyceum. In all cases, a calling from a particular Goddess is required before taking the Path of Priesthood. Final Ordination is passed through attunement by this Lyceum.

3-Path Priesthood Training Program

This program is recommended for those members who are already familiar with the spiritual tradition that best suits them and already have experience in the Goddess mysteries. This program may be completed in as little as 12 months: 9 months of coursework and 3 months of ritual. As with all of our courses, this is just a minimum guideline; you may always take as long as necessary. The following Paths are required to be completed in this order:

The Path of Self
The Path of Balance
The Path of Priesthood

Extensive Priesthood Training Program

For those students who may be new to the Goddess mysteries and have not yet decided upon a spiritual tradition. It is also for those who prefer a longer training program. This program may take up to 2 years depending upon how many Paths the student wishes to complete. This program includes at least the first two Paths outlined above (Self & Balance), and as many of the other Paths that the student wishes to take.

To read a complete description of the Paths, please go to the Lyceum Curriculum page.

FOI Policy Regarding Ordination:

After a Priesthood training program has been completed and the Ordination Rite enacted, the Fellowship of Isis requires a formal year-and-a-day to pass before the official registration of a new Priest/ess is allowed. This waiting period allows the member to validate their ministry in practical life, through conscious participation in their Vocation.

Only after formal certification and registration is the ordination valid within the Fellowship of Isis. This is also required before a Priest or Priestess can train and ordain other candidates into the Fellowship of Isis Priesthood.

A Note to Solitaries

In the Fellowship of Isis, a Vocation is individual to each Priest/ess - it is between you and your Matron Goddess to decide on exactly what this will be for you. It is not required to go out and "minister" to others, unless that happens to be your personal Vocation. We have many students who are solitaries for a variety of reasons: personal choice, physical challenges, family responsibilities, etc. Each have their own unique contribution to offer to the Goddess and Her Divine Plan, and all are welcomed in the FOI Priesthood.

To read an article from our Founder about what it means to be a Priest/ess of the Goddess, please see this page: Priesthood Vocation.

The legalities of FOI Ordination

Priesthood ordination is sponsored by the international Fellowship of Isis and does not confer legal ministerial status. The Crossroads Lyceum provides a personal spiritual ordination between the member and the Goddess.
