"To my astonishment I had a further Initiation in 2000. Now although I was Priestess of Isis, I had always felt somewhat deficient because I had not experienced what Lucius Apuleius, of the Roman religion of Isis and Osiris, had described. During the Holy Night for which he had been prepared for a long time, he described an ecstatic revelation which qualified him as an Initiate of Isis. All he was permitted to divulge were the enigmatic words: "I saw the sun at midnight." This brought him spiritual Rebirth. But what happened? People have written of this as being merely symbolical. I noted that the lunar night manifestation of Isis was described in Apuleius' "Metamorphoses of Lucius", his fabled transformation from an ass into a human being, through eating the roses of Isis. But now Isis was revealing Herself associated with the Midday Sun.
"During the shortest night of the year at the Summer Solstice, in the year 2000, I was awakened in my dark bedroom and saw "the sun." It was very large and floated in the middle of the room. I vaguely thought that being a sun it should be nearer the ceiling! I had an impression of short curly rays, and it was faintly flushed like the sun at dawn. I had been awakened by a dazzling flash of white Light, like being photographed by flash. There was the impression of the wall at the South-East dissolving, and presences. I fell into a very deep sleep, occasionally waking up delightedly, saying: 'I have seen the Sun!' "
